Pawn Stars’ Corey Harrison launches GoFundMe to help pay $100,000 medical bills after horrific motorcycle crash

Pawn Stars star Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison says he’s been left with more than $100,000 in medical bills and expenses after a serious motorcycle accident in Tulum, Mexico, in January.

The reality TV personality, 42, spent 14 days in hospital after suffering 11 fractured ribs, a punctured lung, a concussion, and internal bleeding from the crash.

Now, Corey is asking fans for help covering his medical expenses in a GoFundMe campaign launched by his friend Aron Chambers.

In the page’s description, Chambers recalls a harrowing journey taking Corey to a cheaper hospital in Mexico, four and a half hours from where they were staying in Playa del Carmen.

“In a heartbreaking moment that shook all of us to our core, Corey looked at us and said, ‘I’m just going to die out here. I don’t have the money to keep paying these people,’” Chambers wrote.

“Every bump on that road felt like a brutal kick to his already shattered chest — there were moments when we weren’t sure we’d make it in time,” Corey’s friend said of the journey to a hospital in Mérida.

Once there, Chambers said doctors “drained nearly three liters of blood from his chest cavity” and Corey underwent “three life-saving surgeries and spent an additional 18 days in the hospital.”

“Corey emptied his entire bank account to cover what he could,” Chambers continued. “Friends, including myself, maxed out credit cards just to keep his treatment going. Being on television and part of Pawn Stars fame doesn’t come with a built-in safety net for emergencies like this — medical crises don’t care about celebrity status.”

Now back in Tulum, where he currently lives, Corey needs ongoing follow-up care and medications.

The GoFundMe campaign has raised nearly $5,000 of its $18,000 target at the time of writing.

Elsewhere in the description, Chambers wrote that Corey was reluctant to take heavy painkillers after his brother died of an overdose.

While he still receives some residual checks, Corey told TMZ he’s now completely removed from Pawn Stars.

The reality series chronicles the daily activities at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, a 24-hour family business opened in 1989 by patriarch Richard “Old Man” Harrison, his son Rick Harrison, Rick’s son Corey, and Corey’s childhood friend, Austin “Chumlee” Russell.

Corey announced in 2025 that he had not renewed his contract with the show.

“At this stage of the game, we’re all playing a character on Pawn Stars,” Harrison told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “I can’t play another season of 41-year-old me pretending to be 23.”

He also addressed his father’s podcast Pawn After Dark, saying: “They told me what they are doing and I said, ‘Alright, cool. I’ll pack it up. I’m moving to Mexico. You guys have a fun time out here and do what you want to do.’ My dad will work ’til the day he collapses. That’s just not me.”

The History Channel show is currently on indefinite hiatus after its 23rd season concluded in 2025. Plans for a revival have yet to be announced.
