Duane Ollinger, who thrilled audiences over several seasons as the star of the Discovery Channel show “Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch,” has died at 68 according to reports.

TMZ has also provided the apparent cause of death, citing a family source.

Ollinger died Tuesday at a hospital in Texas following a battle with ALS, TMZ’s report states.

Ollinger’s physical condition and illness had concerned fans for more than a year. In Season 6 of the show, which premiered last week, he was replaced by Josh Feldman, who took over the hunt for treasure on Ollinger’s Utah property.

Ryan Skinner, who played a major role on “Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch,” previously confirmed Ollinger’s death on social media late Tuesday night.

“Sad to report that my good friend Duane Ollinger of Blind Frog Ranch passed away earlier today,” he wrote. “Duane was a force of constant positivity, empathy, & encouragement to everyone. Whenever we talked he would always say to hell what anyone thinks, go out there and ‘TELL YOUR TRUTH!'”

Longtime fans pay tribute

Starting with the show’s debut in 2021, Ollinger captured fans’ hearts with his determination to uncover what he believed was an ancient Aztec treasure buried on his property.

The fact locals believed the area was cursed only added to the show’s intrigue. Following reports of Ollinger’s death, “Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch” fans have been expressing their condolences on social media.

“This is heartbreaking news. Duane was the heart and soul of the show, and his grit and determination to uncover the ranch’s secrets made him so compelling to watch,” one fan wrote on X/Twitter. “He really seemed like a genuine, hard-working guy who threw everything into his passion. Sending thoughts to Chad and the rest of the Ollinger family.”
